Royal Hibiscus Hotel, the latest release from EbonyLife’s vault of movies, held its Lagos premiere on February 4th.

Zainab Balogun, who has stared in a number of other EbonyLife films, plays the lead actress in the movie. Leading man is former Mr. Nigeria, Kenneth Okolie.

The romantic comedy, being released in time for Valentine’s Day, tells the story of a young lady Ope, played by Zainab Balogun, who returns back to Nigeria after years abroad. On returning she sets her sights on revamping the food at the boutique hotel owned by her parents.  However she is unaware that her parents are planning on unburdening themselves of the hotel. They are working to sell it to her love interest in the film, Deji, played by Kenneth Okolie.

The film originally debuted in 2017 at the Toronto International Film Festival where it was warmly received. It features a cast of seasoned Hollywood actors, most notably Rachel Oniga and Jide Kosoko who play Ope’s parents.
