Disney has released the trailer for their Ava DuVernay directed version of “A Wrinkle In Time.”

The movie marks the first time an African American woman is directing a live action Hollywood movie with a production budget larger than $100 million.  The movie features a multi-ethnic cast with the leading female protagonist role played by African American, Storm Reid.  Oprah Winfrey also stars in the movie. Other prominent personalities in the movie include Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and Chris Pine.  The slated release date for the movie is March 2018.

Ava DuVernay has been spotted wearing an African designer at least once.  In 2015, she wore a blue jewel toned gown by Nigerian designer, Elvira Jude, to the Governors Award.

She was also spotted in 2014 wearing a print sheath style dress to the AFI screening of her award winning biopic on Martin Luther King, Jr., “Selma.”
