What’s hot right now in the world of African (inspired) fashion?

For men, it seems like the agbada, aka The African Tuxedo, is making a run. We particularly like the way TV Presenter and Media Personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, wears his.  This is not your father’s agbada.  It’s tailored to perfection, modern agbada with trousers that are slightly more fitted than normal and a shorter than standard traditional style agbada. Below, Ebuka wears the style in both fiery hot red and a classic black, while accessorizing with his wife on his arms. We love both looks.

For women, much unlike previous years, it’s difficult to pinpoint one particular style that everyone has been wearing. One style that has gained a bit of popularity though is the layering of a button down tailored shirt under an a printed ankara piece.  Stella Jean popularized this combo with her designs that mixed elements of Western and African dress.  Here we see bad girl, Riri, rocking the style fabulously while wearing a Stella Jean look.
